There is a College Union in Gandhi Mahavidyalaya, which is governed by a constitution for the students of Gandhi Mahavidyalaya, which define, state & specify the formation & functions of the Student Union. It is an elected body of the students who support the college administration in the curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the college.

AIMS:

Fostering a democratic spirit, organizing capability & developing a healthy atmosphere of discipline, co-operation and unity amongst the members of the Union.

MEMBERS:

Every bonafide student of +3 stream of the college is a member of the Union. A bonafide student is one whose name is on the rolls of the college. Every member of the Union shall pay prescribed fee for student union at the beginning of each session. Each bonafide student of +3 stream is eligible to elect the following office bearers.

  1. President
  2. Vice-President
  3. Secretary
  4. Asst. Secretary
  5. Class Representatives (Each class of +3 stream shall send a representative to the union either unanimously or by election as deem fit.)
  6. Two women representatives shall be nominated by the Principal if they are not represented in the Union.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

Consist of the following members

    • Vice-Chairman: Advisor, Student Union
    • Associate Advisors, Student Union
  2. Elected Members:-
    • President, Student Union
    • Vice-President, Student Union

    • Assistant Secretary, Student Union
    • Class Representatives, Student Union
  3. Women Representatives
FUNCTIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

Draw up a detailed programme of the activities of the Union for the session i.e.

  1. Organize cultural & academic discussion.
  2. Invite eminent persons to address the members of the Union, Students & Staff of the College.
  3. Organize debate, essay, quiz and other literary competition.
  4. Render social service to the people with the approval of the Principal.
  5. Hold Annual Day of the college in collaboration with the Cultural Association of +2 Students.
  6. Take up activities in accordance with the aims of the Union.
  7. Prepare & pass the budget of the Union for the session.
